The Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers meet Friday afternoon in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.
The Minnesota Vikings are one of those teams that’s absolutely loaded on the offensive side of the ball with wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, as well as running back Darlin Cook all ranked 90 overall or better. The Vikings defense isn’t too shabby either with safety Harrision Smith being the teams highest rated player at 95 overall while Everyone Griffen and Danielle Hunter being two speed rushers ranked in the high 80s. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is also somebody you can win with, as he has a decent rating of 82 overall and a 82 acceleration rating to do a good job of moving the pocket. The Minnesota Vikings can’t seem to make this team work in real life, but they have a lot of fun weapons to use in the video game and should have a lot of success as well as flashy plays on both sides of the ball.
The Green Bay Packers have three players ranked 90 or better overall in left tackle David Bakhtiari, wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive tackle Kenny Clark. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers comes in with an 89 rating overall, a 82 rating in acceleration and a 91 awareness rating. Of course, a lot of the Packers success comes down to quarterback play and as long as he takes care of the ball, they’ll give you a chance to win no matter who they play. The problem is the Packers have limited weapons outside of quarterback, so scoring can be limited at times and the ground game has been weak in past simulations. However, the Green Bay Packers have eight players with an awareness rating of at least 90, which is important in a computer simulation where you’re counting on guys to do their job correctly.
The Green Bay Packers are capable of beating anybody on any given night, especially when Rodgers has it going offensively. The issue here is the Packers aren't all that good of a team in this simulations and their defense gets crushed more times than not. The Minnesota Vikings are one of the more balanced teams in this game and you should be looking to back often in the underdog role simply due to how talented they are.
I'll gladly take the Vikings and the free points.
