The New Orleans Saints and the Philadelphia Eagles meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Monday night.
The New Orleans Saints will look to build off of a 50-31 win over Pittsburgh in their last sim matchup. Michael Thomas is one of Madden’s five 99 overall rated players, with 89 speed, 92 acceleration and 92 agility as well as 99 catching, 98 catching in traffic and 97 spectacular catch with 96 release and 93 jumping. Drew Brees comes in as the starting QB for the Saints at 94 overall with 99 short pass accuracy, 97 medium pass accuracy and 91 deep ball accuracy and Alvin Kamara leads the Saints at running back with an 89 overall rating, including 94 acceleration, 93 agility, 90 carrying and 90 juke while Jared Cook is at 87 overall with 90 acceleration and 85 catching. On defense, Cameron Jordan leads the Saints’ pass rush at 92 overall with 92 impact blocking, 89 tackling and 94 finesse move. Demario Davis is at 89 overall at outside linebacker with 90 play recognition and 90 pursuit as well as 86 speed and 89 acceleration. Marcus Williams and Marshon Lattimore also make up a big chunk of the New Orleans secondary at 86 and 85 overall.
The Philadelphia Eagles will look to rebound from a 31-27 loss to Atlanta last time out. Zach Ertz leads the Eagles’ offense with a 90 overall rating with 87 acceleration and 93 catching while Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson make up the Philly’s top receiving pair at 85 and 84 overall respectively. Carson Wentz is starting at quarterback for Philly at 83 overall while the Eagles’ top rated players are on the right side of their offensive line with Jason Kelce at center with a 94 overall rating, Brandon Brooks at 93 overall at right guard and right tackle Lane Johnson at 89 overall. On the defense, Fletcher Cox leads the Eagles at 95 overall with 95 strength, 93 tackling and 96 power move while Brandon Graham is right defensive end at 87 overall with 90 power move and 93 impact blocking. Malcolm Jenkins leads the Eagles’ secondary at 86 overall with 91 acceleration, 90 agility and 88 zone coverage.
I’ve gone back and forth on this one, and it’s hard to pick a side as the Eagles show up when you don’t expect them to, but we all know how good the Saints are. With that said, I think the best play here is the over. These two teams are easily capable of putting up 30+ points, and these two have also been on offensively more often than not. I just think this is another game that could hit at least 60, so I’ll take the over.
