The Oakland Raiders and the Detroit Lions meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Tuesday afternoon.

The Oakland Raiders will try to rebound from a narrow 30-25 loss to New England in their last sim appearance. The Raiders have some muscle on the offensive line with Rodney Hudson at 93 overall, Richie Incognito at 87 overall and Trent Brown at 86 overall. Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller each have 85 overall attribute ratings, with Jacobs owning 96 carrying and 91 acceleration at running back while Waller has 89 speed, 89 acceleration and 96 catching at tight end. Tyrell Williams is the Raiders’ top wide receiver at 82 overall with 92 speed, 93 acceleration and 95 agility while Derek Carr is still the Raiders’ starting quarterback with an 80 overall rating. On the defensive end, Lamarcus Joyner comes in with an 83 overall rating, including 88 speed and 92 acceleration, but after Joyner, every defender on the Raiders owns a 79 overall rating or lower.

The Detroit Lions enter this one looking to build off of a 23-21 win over the Bills in their last sim game. Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. are still the top receivers for the Lions with Golladay at 86 overall and Jones Jr. at 85 overall with both recording a 90 speed rating and a low-90s acceleration rating. Matthew Stafford remains at starting QB for Detroit with an 82 overall rating, including a 94 rated attribute in throwing power. Defensively, Damon Harrison Sr. leads Detroit with an 89 overall rating, including a 95 grade in impact blocking and 92 in tackling as well as a 91 mark in block shedding. Darius Slay Jr. may not be with the Lions either, but he still is on the team here and has high-80s ratings in man and zone coverage as well as low-90s ratings in speed, acceleration and agility.

I’ve gone back and forth on this game, and it’s rightfully a pick ‘em as I can’t decide which one of these teams I like less. With that said, I’m going to side with the over. Neither of these two teams play much defense, just like in real life, but we’ve also seen both of these teams be able to put points on the board when need be. This just seems like a low total for a game that could easily end up being 35-28 or something along those lines, so I’ll take the over here.
