The Line: Baltimore Ravens -2.5 -- Over/Under: 50
The Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens meet Saturday night in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.
The Philadelphia Eagles have a lot to offer in the Madden world with four players ranked 90 or better overall. Those players include tight end Zach Ertz, defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and offensive linemen Brandon Brooks and Jason Kelce. Throw in Lane Johnson and Jason Peters, and the Eagles have possibly the best offensive line in the game, making things easy for running backs Josh Howard and Miles Sanders. Quarterback Carson Wentz also has a lot of time to throw the ball, and he’s decently rated at 83 overall, 83 awareness, 81 speed and 87 acceleration. We also can’t forget about wide receiver Desean Jackson, who has a 94 speed rating and 93 acceleration rating, making him one of the biggest x-factors in the game due to his game changing wheels. The Philadelphia Eagles are reliable in the trenches and that makes them a valuable team to back in computer simulations where it’s usually the little things that make a difference.
The Baltimore Ravens have five players ranked 91 overall or better, including safety Earl Thomas, left tackle Ronnie Stanley, quarterback Lamar Jackson, right guard Marshal Yanda and defensive tackle Michael Pierce. Not only do the Ravens have a stacked offensive line, but they have a quarterback who has a 96 speed rating and 96 acceleration rating, which makes him the modern Michael Vick and pretty much a cheat code in the video game world. Running back Mark Ingram is also tough to bring down and kicker Justin Tucker misses almost nothing with his 87 overall rating. The Baltimore Ravens may not have won the Super Bowl in real life, but they’re absolutely loaded in Madden and almost unfair to play with if you find yourself playing online.
The Philadelphia Eagles are as solid of any team in this game due to their play in the trenches, and they have an underrated offense now that they're healthy in video game form. The Baltimore Ravens are physical on both sides of the ball, and they have a cheat code at quarterback in Lamar Jackson who is downright scary in the open field. The Baltimore Ravens are a tough team to bet against with their balance.
If we were getting more points I'd consider the Eagles, but with the small chalk, I have to side with the Baltimore Ravens.
