The Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins meet Saturday afternoon in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of those teams that controls the trenches, as their top-four ranked players (David DeCastro, Cameron Heyward, Stephon Tuitt and Maurkice Pountey) are on the offensive or defensive line. The Steelers are also loaded with highly ranked players on the defensive side and that’s where they’re going to butter their bread in these simulations. The highest ranked skill position player for the Steelers is wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, who is rated 86 overall with a 91 speed rating and 92 acceleration rating. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is ranked 81 overall and has a strength rating of 82, so he’s tough to bring down even if the defense gets to him. The Pittsburgh Steelers are a physical bunch with an effective defense and are a strong team to play with in this version of Madden.
The Washington Redskins have one player ranked in the 90s, and that’s left tackle Trent Williams who brings in a 92 overall rating and a 90 awareness rating. Right guard Brandon Scherff has an 88 overall rating, giving the Redskins an above-average offensive line in Madden20. As for the skill positions, the Redskins turn to tight end Jordan Reed who has an 84 overall rating and wide receiver Terry Mclaurin who is 81 overall. Quarterback, the Redskins are led by Dwayne Haskins who is 70 overall with a 70 awareness rating and 76 speed rating. The Washington Redskins are one of those teams in this game you have to play really conservative with, as they don’t have the horses on either side of the ball to really flip a game. Rely on defense and ground game and hope Haskins doesn’t make the turnover that kills your bet.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the better teams in this game when you consider the athletes they have on defense and the playmakers they have on offense. The Steelers have multiple ways they can win, and they've cashed some nice tickets for us in the past. The Washington Redskins are probably better in this game than they are in real life, but they lack the difference makers on offense to keep up with above-average teams. I'm not thrilled to get behind the Redskins in these simulations.
I'll take the Steelers to win this game by a touchdown.
