The Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos meet Sunday afternoon in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.
The Miami Dolphins don’t have a ton to offer in this game, but three of their top-four rated players are on the defensive side in cornerbacks Xavien Howard and Aqib Talib, as well as safety Reshad Jones. Wide receiver DeVante Parker is the Dolphins highest rated player at 84 overall with a 91 speed and acceleration ratings. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick checks out at 74 overall with an 80 awareness rating and 80 acceleration rating. The x-factor for the Dolphins is wide receiver Jakeem Grant, who has a 96 sped rating and 94 acceleration rating, one of the few difference makers on this team capable of turning out a big play. Overall, the Miami Dolphins aren’t scaring anybody and have just four players ranked 81 overall or higher. At least in Madden20, the Dolphins are a tough team to sell and can often find themselves over their head.
The Denver Broncos have an old school feel to their playing style, as they’re going to rely on their defense and ground game to produce victories. Linebacker Von Miller is the Broncos highest rated player at 96 and cornerback Chris Harris is the second highest rated player with a 90 overall. Running back Phillip Lindsay is the Broncos highest rated offensive player at an 85, and he’s going to be the workhorse for Denver to keep things competitive. The concern with the Broncos is that quarterback Drew Lock doesn’t get much respect from the folks at Madden with his 68 rating overall, but he does have decent speed at 83 and could make some plays with his feet at times. The Denver Broncos aren’t flashy, but they play disciplined ball and control the trenches, which could be key with the computer leading the way.
We've backed the Miami Dolphins a lot in the underdog role and they've paid off, as they're better than these rankings suggest, and they're aggressive on both sides of the ball. Ryan Fitzpatrick pushes the ball down field and these Fins have scored points and pulled off a few upsets over these last couple of months. The Denver Broncos aren't favorites often, which should tell you what oddsmakers think of this team, and they're not the club built to blow games open.
Like we've done many times in the past, give me the Dolphins and the points.
