The New York Jets and New York Giants meet Thursday afternoon in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.
The New York Jets didn’t win a whole lot in the real life season, but they have some talent on the video game side, especially on defense where safety Jalen Adams and linebackers CJ Mosely and Avery Williamson are all ranked 85 or higher overall. Running back Le’Veon Bell carries an 88 overall rating with a 89 speed rating and 92 acceleration rating. Wide receiver Robby Anderson is the fastest player on the team with a 94 speed rating and 84 overall rating. Quarterback Sam Darnold has a 74 overall rating with a 77 awareness rating and a 83 acceleration rating. For a team that didn’t win a whole lot on the actual field, the New York Jets have some talent in the virtual world and they’re good enough to win with if played with online. Don’t sleep on these Jets.
The New York Giants are heavy offensive team with their top-five ranked players being on that side of the ball starting with running back Saquon Barkley who is a 89 overall with a 92 speed rating. Tight end Evan Engram is an 88 overall with an 88 awareness rating, while wide receiver Golden Tate is an 83 overall rating and 96 agility rating. The concern with the Giants is quarterback Daniel Jones brings in a 70 overall rating with a 72 awareness rating and 84 speed rating. Defensively, defensive end Leonard Williams is the highest rated player at 82 overall and defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson is 80 overall with an 88 strength rating. The New York Giants are light on game changing talent, but you can win with this team if you know how to control the offensive line and mix up a power running game.
We've backed the New York Giants a lot in these simulations and a lot of it is because they're often big underdogs and I don't love leaving points on the table. In this spot, the New York Jets are considerably the better team, as their defense is loaded with playmakers and they have speed on the offensive side with an above-average running back to carry the load. The Jets are much better than people think in this game, and they don't have Adam Gase calling plays to mess things up.
Give me the Jets in this near toss up.
