The Oakland Raiders and the New York Giants meet in a Madden 20 NFL simulation game on Tuesday afternoon.
The Oakland Raiders will look to rebound from a 44-38 loss to the Miami Dolphins in their last sim appearance. The Raiders have some beef on the offensive line with Rodney Hudson at 93 overall, Richie Incognito at 87 overall and Trent Brown at 86 overall. Josh Jacobs and Darren Waller each have 85 overall ratings, with Jacobs owning 96 carrying and 91 acceleration at running back while Waller has 89 speed, 89 acceleration and 96 catching at tight end. Tyrell Williams is Oakland’s top wide receiver at 82 overall with 92 speed, 93 acceleration and 95 agility. Derek Carr remains the Raiders’ starting QB with an 80 overall rating. On the defensive end, Lamarcus Joyner comes in with an 83 overall rating, including 88 speed and 92 acceleration, but after Joyner, every defender on the Raiders owns a 79 overall rating or lower.
The New York Giants will try to bounce back after a 45-35 loss to Tampa Bay last time out. Saquon Barkley leads the Giants on offense with an 89 overall rating, with 92 speed, 93 acceleration, 96 agility, 94 carrying and 94 juke ratings. Evan Engram leads the New York’s receiving group at tight end at 88 overall with 88 catching, 90 speed and 91 acceleration while Golden Tate III and Sterling Shepard make up a good tandem at wide receiver with each logging 90 speed and 91 acceleration with Tate III having 89 catching compared to Shepard’s 88. On the defense, Leonard Williams is the only player rated 80+ overall on the Giants on that end of the ball.
We make the joke on the live show, but it’s ringing true in these sim matchups, that I want nothing to do with the New York Giants and Daniel Jones, in both reality and in simulated football. Oakland’s had their ups and downs as well, but the offense is a lot easier to trust when it comes to the Raiders and the Giants are one of the few teams that the Raiders are better than. I’ll side with the Raiders in this pick ‘em spot.
