The Line: Minnesota Vikings -2.5 -- Over/Under: 50.5
The Kansas City Chiefs and Minnesota Vikings meet Wednesday night in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.
The Kansas City Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champs and have six players ranked in the 90s overall. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes is damn near a cheat code with his 99 rating overall, 97 awareness rating and 87 acceleration rating. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill has a 96 rating overall and his acceleration and speed ratings are 99, and he’s an easy touchdown once he gets off press coverage. Defensive end Frank Clark is a speedy pass rusher who gets to the pass rusher regularly and tight end Travis Kelce is a beast across the middle with his 96 rating. Like most teams that win the title, Madden shows love to a lot of the players and it’s been no different for the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Minnesota Vikings are one of those teams that’s absolutely loaded on the offensive side of the ball with wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, as well as running back Darlin Cook all ranked 90 overall or better. The Vikings defense isn’t too shabby either with safety Harrision Smith being the teams highest rated player at 95 overall while Everyone Griffen and Danielle Hunter being two speed rushers ranked in the high 80s. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is also somebody you can win with, as he has a decent rating of 82 overall and a 82 acceleration rating to do a good job of moving the pocket. The Minnesota Vikings can’t seem to make this team work in real life, but they have a lot of fun weapons to use in the video game and should have a lot of success as well as flashy plays on both sides of the ball.
The Kansas City Chiefs in the underdog role is a tempting betting option because of how explosive they are on the offensive side. I usually don't turn down free points with the team that you can make a case is the better side. However, the Minnesota Vikings are a top five team in this game in terms of balance, as they have enough offensive weapons to hold their own with anybody, but they're also stacked defensively and don't allow easy points. Overall, the Vikings are probably the better team here when it comes to highly rated players that make a difference in these simulations.
I'll lay the small number with the Vikings.
