The Las Vegas Raiders and the New England Patriots meet Sunday in NFL action from Gillette Stadium.

The Raiders are 2-0 on the season so far. Las Vegas got a 34-30 win over the Panthers in Week 1, then in the Monday game versus the Saints, the Raiders posted a great victory on national television 34-24. As for the Patriots, they’re 1-1 this season. New England took out the Dolphins 21-11 in Week 1, then fell in a thriller 35-30 to the Seahawks last weekend. The Raiders posted a pretty solid effort in their opening game versus Carolina, but it still came down to the wire as the Panthers outscored Vegas 15-7 in the fourth quarter. Raiders QB Derek Carr threw for 239 yards and a TD in that one, and Joshua Jacobs led the rush on 93 yards and three scores.

In the Monday game versus the Saints, Las Vegas was down early but posted 17 points in the second quarter to tie it up at halftime. Quarterback Derek Carr led the comeback with 282 yards and three touchdowns, while Joshua Jacobs rushed for 88 yards on 27 carries. Darren Waller led the Vegas receivers with 12 catches for 103 yards and a score.

Over on the Patriots’ side, they peppered in the touchdowns across the final three quarters in the opener win over the Dolphins, and relied on defense for a 10-point victory. New England QB Cam Newton threw for 155 yards in that one and rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Julian Edelman led the receivers with five catches for 57 yards.

In Week 2, the Patriots faced a tough Seattle team, and hung around the entire way in the five-point defeat. Newton had 397 pass yards, one TD and one pick in that one while leading the rush on 47 yards and two more scores. Edelman was once again the leading receiver with eight grabs for 179 yards.

The Raiders are 19-39-1 ATS in their last 59 games after an ATS win and 16-34-1 ATS in their last 51 games after a straight-up win. Las Vegas is 2-5 ATS in their last seven games overall and 7-15-1 ATS in their last 23 road games.

Meanwhile, the Patriots are 48-23-1 ATS in their last 67 home games and 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite. New England is 2-5-1 ATS in their last eight games versus the AFC and 1-4-1 ATS in their last six games as a home favorite.

Pick: Going Patriots here. New England has fallen right into the swing of things with Newton at quarterback. It remains to be seen how the season will play out, but so far it’s been a pretty potent offensive attack. As for the Raiders, they’ve shown some nice potential flash in their limited 2020 action, and will really give New England a game. I still think the Pats are the more talented team and will win by a touchdown or so.
