The New Orleans Saints and the Detroit Lions meet in week 4 NFL action from Ford Field on Sunday afternoon.

The New Orleans Saints will be out to rebound after a 37-30 loss to Green Bay on Sunday night dropped the Saints to 1-2 on the year. Drew Brees has thitemn for 760 yards, 6 touchdowns and an interception on 70.2% passing while Alvin Kamara leads New Orleans in rushing and receiving with 153 rushing yards with 3 TDs and 27 catches on 31 targets out of the backfield for 285 yards and 3 scores there as well. Tre’Quan Smith and Jared Cook each have 100+ receiving yards this season while Emmanuel Sanders has a pair of receiving touchdowns. On defense, Malcolm Jenkins has a team-high 22 tackles, with Demario Davis logging 21 total tackles including a team-high 16 solo tackles and a pair of sacks. Trey Hendrickson also has a pair of sacks while Janoris Jenkins has 20 tackles for New Orleans this season.

The Detroit Lions will look to build off of their first win of the season in the form of a 26-23 win over Arizona last time out. Matthew Stafford has thitemn for 811 yards, 5 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 62.3% passing while Adrian Peterson leads Detroit in rushing wuth 209 rushing yards. T.J. Hockenson leads the Lions in receiving with a team0high 13 catches for 171 yards and a score while Marvin Jones Jr. has 11 receptions for 129 receiving yards and Danny Amendola has 120 receiving yards for the Lions this year. Defensively, Tracy Walker leads the Lions with 23 total tackles including a team-high 19 solo tackles this season.

New Orleans is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record and 35-17 ATS in their last 52 road games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. Detroit is 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 home games. The over is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

Just when I think the Saints had turned a corner defensively to start the year, the Saints have old habits die hard and give up 37 points to the Packers. On the other hand, Detroit showed some grit defensively, but I still think that there’s a long way to go for the Lions on the defensive front. Instead of trying to pick a side, I’ll side with the over here as I think both offenses show up for this one and we could be in for a 34-30 type of game here. Give me the over.
