The Minnesota Vikings and the Seattle Seahawks meet Sunday in Week 5 NFL action from CenturyLink Field.

The Vikings enter this matchup at 1-3 on the 2020 NFL season. Minnesota dropped their first three games in succession to the Packers, Colts and Titans, but finally got a win over the Texans last weekend. As for the Seahawks, they’re chugging along at 4-0. So far, Seattle has taken out the Falcons, Patriots, Cowboys and Dolphins over their first four outings. Check back all season long for free NFL picks and NFL predictions at Sports Chat Place.

The Vikings haven’t been able to find their footing this season, which is strange for a team that supposedly was going to contend for the division. Minnesota lost by nine to Green Bay 43-34, then got drilled by the Colts 28-11. The Titans game was cosmetically better at 31-30, and the Vikings finally got in the win column 31-23 versus Houston.

In the win over the Texans, Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins posted 260 yards with a touchdown, and Dalvin Cook had a great game on the ground with 130 yards and two touchdowns. Adam Thielen was the leading receiver for Minnesota in that one with eight catches for 114 yards and a score.

Over on the Seattle side, they’ve had a few relative close calls, but so far have been unscathed in 2020 due to a great offense. The Seahawks didn’t have much trouble 38-25 with Atlanta in the opener, but have lived by one-score margins since then. Seattle went 35-30 versus the Patriots, 38-31 versus the Cowboys and 31-23 against the Dolphins.

In the win over Miami last weekend, Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson posted 360 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, while DK Metcalf had 106 yards on four grabs. Chris Carson had 16 carries for 80 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Seahawks rushers there as well.

The Vikings are 9-2-1 ATS in the last 12 games in October and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games in Week 5. Minnesota is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as an underdog and 6-15 ATS versus a team with a winning record.

Meanwhile, the Seahawks are 4-0 ATS in their last four games overall and 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite. Seattle is 5-2-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games in Week 5.

PICK: I’m going Seahawks. The line on this one opened up a little thick, but it’s come down to a more manageable one-score number since then. Seattle boasts a really nice offense this season, scoring at least 31 points in every game. This is probably going to be another 30-something to 30-something game (Minnesota does have some solid scoring capabilities when they’re on), but I like Wilson and the gang to power out a cover and further assert their NFC dominance.
