The Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants meet in a NFC East matchup on Sunday in Week 10 NFL action from MetLife Stadium in the New Jersey Meadowlands.
Philadelphia enters this game at 3-4-1 on the season. The Eagles are 2-2 in their last four with losses to the Steelers and Ravens alongside wins over the Giants and Cowboys. As for the Giants, they’re 2-7 this year. After losing consecutive games to the Eagles and Buccaneers, New York got a win over Washington last weekend. Philadelphia hasn’t looked great this season, but they’ve snagged consecutive divisional wins and oddly enough they’re sitting alone atop the NFC East. Philly took out the Giants 22-21 on October 22, then in their most recent game the Eagles beat the Cowboys 23-9 to help them gain outright control of the division.
In the win over the Cowboys, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz posted 123 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Boston Scott led the rushing attack on 15 carries for 71 yards, and Travis Fulgham managed 78 yards and a TD on six receptions.
Over on the Giants’ side, it’s been pretty much a lost season so far, and the team’s only wins have come against divisional rival Washington. Sandwiched between the two victories are close losses to the Eagles 22-21 and the Buccaneers 25-23. New York took out Washington 23-20 in their matchup last weekend.
In the latest win over Washington, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones posted 212 yards with a TD, and Wayne Gallman added 14 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. Austin Mack was the leading receiver there with four catches for 72 yards.
The Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in November and 1-5 ATS in their last six games as a favorite. The under is 6-0 in Philly’s last six games in November and the over is 4-0 in their last four as a road favorite.
Meanwhile, the Giants are 5-0 ATS in their last five games as an underdog and 5-1 ATS in the last six overall. New York is 5-1 ATS in the last six versus the NFC and 12-3-1 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
PICK: I’m leaning Eagles here, but probably staying away in reality. The NFC East matchups this year are anyone’s guess, and it’s almost as if none of the four teams wants to win the division. That said, Philadelphia does have some reasonable scoring capabilities, and the defense has been solid against average-to-bad teams. This is probably going to be another tight, evenly-matched game and should come down to a few late plays.
