The Dallas Cowboy host the Washington Football Team as they meet Thursday, Thanksgiving Day, in Week 12 NFL NFC East rivalry action from AT&T Stadium.
Washington enters this game at 3-7 on the year. The Team had consecutive losses going versus the Giants and Lions, but took out the Bengals in their most recent game. As for the Cowboys, they’re 3-7 this year as well. Dallas snapped a four-game losing streak with a tight win over the Vikings in their last outing. Washington got a win over Philly coming out of the gate this year, but immediately afterward dropped five straight games to the Cardinals, Browns, Ravens, Rams and Giants. Since then Washington is 2-2, with losses to the Giants and Lions sandwiched between wins over the Cowboys and Bengals.
In the 20-9 win over Cincinnati, Washington quarterback Alex Smith posted 166 yards, one TD and one interception, while Terry McLaurin led the receivers on 84 yards from five catches. Tops in rushing for Washington was Antonio Gibson with 94 yards and a TD on 16 carries.
Over on the Cowboys’ side, they’ve had quite a bit of futility this season as well. Dallas started out at 1-3 with a win over the Falcons and losses to the Rams, Seahawks and Browns. After beating the Giants, Dallas hit the skids with losses to the Cardinals, Washington, the Eagles and Steelers. The Cowboys halted the slide with a 31-28 win over the vikings in Week 11.
In the win over Minnesota, Dallas quarterback Andy Dalton managed 203 yards with three touchdowns and an interception. Ezekiel Elliott led the rush with 103 yards on 21 carries, and Amari Cooper added 81 yards on six receptions.
Washington is 3-7 ATS in their last 10 versus the NFC and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games in November. The Team are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 versus the NFC East and 1-4 ATS in their last five after an ATS win.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games in November and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Thursday games. Dallas is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 overall and 1-4 ATS in their last five versus the NFC East.
PICK: I’m leaning Washington here, but probably staying away. There’s not a whole lot of luster on this matchup—or the entire NFC East in general. Washington took the last game between these teams 25-3 on October 25, but considering Dallas scored 31 against the Vikings this game will probably be closer. Washington has hit 20 or more points in each of the last four games, so they should have enough scoring opportunities to eke out a cover in this one.
