The Detroit Lions could use a win here after splitting their last eight games. The Detroit Lions have lost three of their last four home games. The Texans are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 Thursday games, 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a favorite and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Lions are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games, 4-11 ATS in their last 15 games as an underdog and 6-15 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The over is 5-1 in Texans last 6 road games. The over is 10-1 in Lions last 11 home games.
The Houston Texans are playing the better football entering this matchup, but they haven't won back-to-back games since December of last year, they can't run the football and their defense has been a train wreck for much of the season. The Detroit Lions have a banged up Stafford who didn't look good last week, they've played their worst football at home and their defense hasn't been any better than the Texans. These are two teams with struggling defenses, so while I was leaning toward the Lions and the free points simply because they have more to play for at this point, I'm going to side with the over. Both of these teams have issues getting off the field defensively.
Give me the over, as we set off Thanksgiving with a high scoring contest.
