The Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys meet Thursday night in a Madden20 NFL simulation game.

The Cincinnati Bengals have three players ranked 87 overall or higher in wide receiver AJ Green, defensive tackle Geno Atkins and running back Joe Mixon. Thitem in wide receiver Tyler Boyd who is an 83 overall and has a 92 acceleration rating, and the Bengals are a losing team in real life that actually is intriguing in the video game world. The obvious issue with the Bengals is quarterback Andy Dalton, who is 72 overall, and has a 73 awareness rating and a 75 speed rating. The Cincinnati Bengals have talent and are a surprisingly poor team you can win with in this game. However, in a computer simulation, you have to worry about Dalton and the questionable decisions he’s going to make with a low awareness rating.

The Dallas Cowboys have four players ranked 91 or better overall in running back Ezekiel Elliott, wide receiver Amari Cooper and offensive linemen Zack Martin and Tyron Smith. That makes for a strong running game and a difference maker on the outside. Quarterback Dan Prescott is rated 81 overall, but he has a decent speed rating of 83 and acceleration rating of 86, so he can hurt defenses with his feet. Speaking of the defense, the Cowboys have a shutdown corner in Byron Jones who has an 88 rating overall and a top tier pass rusher in DeMarcus Lawrence who also has an 88 rating overall and a 88 acceleration rating. The Dallas Cowboys are loaded with difference makers on both sides of the ball and have to be one of the more balanced teams in this years version of Madden.

The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the worst teams in this game by far, and that’s with a healthy AJ Green on the outside to improve the offense. However, I rarely lay double-digit chalk in these simulations because I don’t trust the computer to run the score up correctly. The computer in these simulations has no grasp of game situations, so they’ll run the ball under two minutes down four points or will send an all out blitz on third and long. It’s crazy, unpredictable stuff to watch.

Give me the Cincinnati Bengals and the boatload of points.
