The Denver Broncos face off with the Las Vegas Raiders in a week 17 AFC West division matchup in NFL action from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver on Sunday afternoon.

The Las Vegas Raiders will try to finish the season where they started, at .500, after falling to 7-8 with a 3rd straight loss in the form of a 26-25 loss to Miami last time out, eliminating the Raiders from playoff contention once again. Derek Carr has thrown for 3,732 yards, 25 touchdowns and 7 interceptions on 67.6% passing while Josh Jacobs leads Vegas with 976 rushing yards and 10 TDs. Devontae Booker has 407 rushing yards with 3 scores while Darren Waller leads the Raiders’ receiving group with 98 catches for 1,079 yards and 8 TDs and Nelson Agholor has 839 receiving yards with 8 scores as well this year. Hunter Renfrow has chipped in 632 receiving yards and Henry Ruggs III has 414 receiving yards as well for the Raiders on the year. On defense, Johnathan Abram has a team-high 82 total tackles including 57 solo tackles and a pair of interceptions while Nick Kwiatkoski is right behind with 81 total tackles. Jeff Heath has a team-high 3 interceptions while Maxx Crosby leads the Raiders with 6 sacks this season.

The Denver Broncos will look to bounce back and finish the season on a high note after falling back to 5-10 with a 19-16 loss to the Chargers in their last matchup. Drew Lock has thrown for 2,594 yards, 14 touchdowns and 15 interceptions on 57% passing while Melvin Gordon III leads the Broncos with 893 rushing yards and 8 scores and Phillip Lindsay has 502 rushing yards this season as well. Jerry Jeudy leads Denver’s receiving group with 716 receiving yards while Tim Patrick has 696 receiving yards and 6 scores. Noah Fant has 625 receiving yards with 3 scores and KJ Hamler also has 3 TDs with 381 receiving yards. On defense, Alexander Johnson leads the Broncos with 117 total tackles and Josey Jewell has 103 total tackles while Justin Simmons has 93 total tackles with a team-high 75 total tackles and 4 interceptions. Malik Reed and Bradley Chubb each have a team-high 7.5 sacks while Dre’Mont Jones has 5 sacks, DeMarcus Walker has 4.5 sacks and Jeremiah Attaochu has 4 sacks for Denver this season.

Las Vegas is 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games as a road favorite and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 19-7 in their last 26 division games. Denver is 6-15 ATS in their last 21 division games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a loss. Las Vegas is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings between these two teams and 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 meetings between the two sides in Denver.

I’m not sure what to make of this matchup if we’re being honest. I think the win slightly means more to the Raiders who would like to finish at .500 as a moral victory while a win only hurts Denver’s draft stock. It’s a lean, but I’ll side with the Raiders in this spot.
