The Buffalo Bills face off with the Indianapolis Colts Saturday in NFL Wildcard Playoffs action from Ralph Wilson Stadium in Orchard Park, NY.
Coming into this AFC Wild Card Round matchup, Indianapolis sits at 11-5. The Colts lost in Week 16 to the Steelers but bounced back with a 14-point win over the Jaguars on Sunday. As for the Bills, they finished the regular season at 13-3 overall. Buffalo finished in style with a 30-point win over the Dolphins on Sunday. Indianapolis has been competitive in the division all year, and posted a strong 5-3 record over the first half of the season. The Colts came out of the Baltimore loss on a 5-1 run, with a loss to the Titans as the only blemish. Over their final two games of the regular season, the Colts stood tall against the Steelers in a 28-24 loss, then finished off the Jags with a 28-14 victory in Week 17.
In the win over Jacksonville on Sunday, Indianapolis quarterback Philip Rivers posted 164 yards with one TD and one interception, while Nyheim Hines managed six catches for 50 yards. Jonathan Taylor was the big star there however, with 30 carries for a whopping 253 yards and two scores.
Over on the Bills’ side, they’ve posted an impressive season to earn a meaningful AFC East title. Buffalo finished the regular season on a six-game winning streak and their offense has come alive in that stretch. The Bills have taken out the Chargers, 49ers, Steelers, Broncos, Patriots and Dolphins over their last half-dozen outings.
In the win against Miami on Sunday, Bills quarterback Josh Allen posted 224 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. Gabriel Davis led the receivers on 107 yards and a TD from two catches, and Antonio Williams put up 12 carries for 63 yards and two scores.
Buffalo is 6-2 ATS in their last eight home games and 7-0 ATS in their last seven games after an ATS win. The Bills are 5-0 ATS in their last five games versus the AFC and the under is 5-3 in their last eight versus the AFC.
Meanwhile, the Colts are 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 games after an ATS loss and 4-10 ATS in their last 14 versus the AFC. The over is 9-5 in Indianapolis’ last 14 versus the AFC and 8-4 in their last 12 games overall.
PICK: I’m going to go with Buffalo here. The Bills are on a nice run over their last six games and have put their definitive stamp on the AFC East this year. Buffalo has scored 38 or more points in each of their last three games as well. Indianapolis has notched some great offensive numbers and points totals themselves over the last couple of months, but with the momentum Buffalo has coming into this game it’s going to be tricky for the Colts to counter. Should be a great matchup, though.
