The New York Jets meet the New England Patriots in an AFC East division matchup in week 2 NFL action from MetLife Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The New England Patriots will attempt to rebound from a 17-16 loss to Miami in their last game. Mac Jones threw for 281 yards and a touchdown on 29 of 39 passing while Damien Harris had a team-high 100 rushing yards on 23 carries. Nelson Agholor led the Pats with 72 receiving yards and a touchdown on 5 grabs while James White and Jakobi Meyers each had 6 receptions with 40+ receiving yards and Jonnu Smith had 5 grabs for 42 yards as well. Defensively, Kyle Dugger and Devin McCourty each had 7 total tackles with Dugger logging a team-high 6 solo tackles. Jonathan Jones had an interception while Josh Uche and Kyle  Van Noy each had a sack in the defeat.

The New York Jets will look to rebound from their 19-14 loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers last time out. Zach Wilson threw for 258 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception on 20 of 37 passing while Tevin Coleman had 9 carries for 24 yards to lead the Jets in that department. Corey Davis led the Jets with 5 catches for 97 yards and both of the team’s receiving TDs while Braxton Barnes had 51 receiving yards and 5 catches of his own. Defensively, Del’Shawn Phillips led the Jets with 12 total tackles in the winning effort.

New England is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a favorite while the under is 7-3 in their last 10 games in September. New York is 5-14 ATS in their last 19 games against the division and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games as an underdog.

Sometimes, you can throw these division trends or whatnot out the window, as these two teams just don’t like each other. However, the Jets just don’t like the fact that New England can roll in and held them their butts on a platter but that’s where we are here. Wilson didn’t look good in his debut and Jones was at least capable enough to help the Patriots get a win and cover here.
