The Denver Broncos meet the New York Jets Sunday in Week 3 NFL action from Empower Field at Mile High in Denver. The Jets are coming off a 19-point loss to the Patriots, dropping them to 0-2 on the young season. As for Denver, they played the Jaguars in their last game, powering out a 10-point victory to move to 2-0. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

New York opened up the year with a loss to the Panthers 19-14. The Jets were down 16-0 at the break but eventually made a game of it. QB Zach Wilson put up 258 yards with two TDs and an interception, while Corey Davis had 97 yards and two scores off five grabs.

Week two was a step backward for New York. They allowed the Patriots to score in every quarter during a 25-6 defeat. Wilson put up 210 yards with four interceptions, and Michael Carter led the rush with 11 carries for 59 yards.

Over on the Broncos’ side, they matched up with the Giants in week one, posting an eventual 27-13 win. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater finished on 264 yards with two scores, and Melvin Gordon rushed for 101 yards and a TD on 11 carries.

Game two was another victory for the Broncos, this time 23-13 over Jacksonville. Bridgewater put up 328 yards with two touchdowns, and Courtland Sutton led the receiving corps with nine receptions for 159 yards.

The Jets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven in Week three and 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 in September. New York is also 2-7 ATS in their last nine on the road.

Meanwhile, the Broncos are 4-1 ATS in their last five as a favorite and 4-1 ATS in their last five in September. Denver is 4-1 ATS in the last five on grass and 9-4 ATS in the last 13 versus the AFC.

PICK: I’m sticking with Denver. The Broncos have looked pretty solid on offense so far, putting up 50 combined points across two games. Denver had 398 total yards against Jacksonville but did have some penalty problems (10 for 101 yards).

As for the Jets, there haven’t been many indications thus far that the team isn’t going to be miserable once again in 2021. New York simply has to get Wilson’s confidence back after five interceptions in his first two games. Providing some semblance of offensive rhythm will go a long way to helping the rest of the squad. That’s going to take a while (if it ever comes), so I like Denver on the cover.
