NFL Prop Bets for Panthers at Texans Thursday Night Football 9/23/21

The Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans kick off Week 3 of the NFL season with a Thursday Night Football showdown. In this game, there are a few NFL prop bets that stick out to make you money.

Christian McCaffrey over 81.5 rushing yards (-120)

Christian McCaffrey rushed for 98 yards in Game 1 and in the last game he rushed for 72. The last game against the New Orleans Saints wasn’t close, so he wasn’t needed to run the ball as much as of late. The Texans allowed Nick Chubb to rush 11 times for 95 yards in the last game. McCaffrey is going to get whatever he wants in this game and should finish over 100 yards.

Davis Mills over 1.5 passing touchdowns (+180)

This might not be the safest bet, but the +180 is too much value to pass up on. Mills didn’t play a full game in Week 2, but still threw for a touchdown. The Texans are going to be playing from behind, and that will lead to plenty of throwing by Mills. Look for Mills to pass for at least two touchdowns.

Panthers -0.5 – 1st quarter (-110)

Although I think Mills does find some success, there are going to be some nerves, and he will struggle to get the Texans’ offense off to a fast start. Sam Darnold is going to find offensive success in the first quarter, and the Panthers will be leading.

Largest Lead of the game – under 15.5 (-110)

Even with Mills, this Texans team is going to have enough offensive success to keep it within a few touchdowns. I expect most of the game the margin will be around seven or ten points, and the  lead will stay under 15.5.
