The Buffalo Bills host the rival Miami Dolphins in an AFC East week 8 battle Sunday in NFL action from Bills Stadium. Miami is fresh off a tough loss to the Falcons in their last appearance. As for the Bills, they’re coming off a bye week. Buffalo last played the Titans in a three-point defeat. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

Miami kicked off their season with a 17-16 over the Patriots, but it’s been all downhill from there. The Dolphins have lost their last six games, falling to the Bills 35-0, the Raiders 31-28 (OT), the Colts 27-17, the Bucs 45-17, the Jaguars 23-20 and the Falcons 30-28.

In the loss to Atlanta this past weekend, the Dolphins carried a 13-7 deficit into halftime and couldn’t bridge the gap. QB Tua Tagovailoa put up 291 yards with four touchdowns and two picks, while Myles Gaskin led the rush with 67 yards on 15 carries.

Over on the Bills’ side, they lost to the Steelers 23-16 in their opener, but then won their next four games. Those wins were over the Dolphins 35-0, the Team 43-21, the Texans 40-0 and the Chiefs 38-20. Buffalo lost 34-31 to the Titans in their last outing, however.

In the loss to Tennessee, the Bills were outscored 17-11 in the second half after a lead at the break. QB Josh Allen put up 353 yards with three touchdowns and a pick. Emmanuel Sanders added 91 yards off of five receptions as well.

The Dolphins are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 in Week 8 and 5-2 ATS in their last seven versus the AFC East. Miami is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 as an underdog as well.

Meanwhile, the Bills are 5-0 ATS versus a team with a losing record and 4-1-1 ATS in their last six after a bye week. Buffalo is 7-2 ATS in their last nine home games.

PICK: I’m going to stick with Buffalo, despite the thick line. The Bills put up some solid offensive numbers in their last outing, with 417 total yards (335 passing) and 28 first downs. Buffalo allowed 146 rushing yards and 7.1 yards per play to Tennessee on the other side however, which was just enough production for a Titans win.

As for Miami, they were in something of the same boat last weekend, giving up 397 yards to the Falcons along with 21 first downs and 6.3 yards per play. The Dolphins offense played well enough, but also came up with a pair of turnovers and six team penalties. If the Bills offense is cooking in this upcoming matchup, I don’t see Miami keeping up.
