The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Jacksonville Jaguars meet Saturday in NFL preseason action from EverBank Field. The Steelers are coming off an exhibition matchup versus the Seahawks last weekend. In that game Pittsburgh won by seven points. As for the Jaguars, they’ve played the Raiders in the Hall of Fame Game and the Browns back on Friday in preseason action so far. Pittsburgh had a wild season in 2021 but did manage to sputter into a playoff berth. The Steelers went 9-7-1 overall, finishing in second place in the AFC North and securing a Wild Card spot (after some help) in the final week. Pittsburgh lost the Wild Card Playoffs to the Chiefs 42-21, however.

In their first preseason game of the 2022 campaign versus the Seahawks, Pittsburgh took a 17-10 lead into halftime and eventually won 32-25. Kenny Pickett had a nice game on 13-of-15 passing for 95 yards and two scores. Gunner Olszewski caught three passes for 47 yards and a TD as well.

Over on the Jaguars’ side, we got our first look at the 2022 team as they took on the Raiders in the annual Hall of Fame game back on August 4. That matchup didn’t work out so well for Jacksonville in a 27-11 loss. QB Kyle Sloter finished 13-of-25 for 127 yards and a score in the defeat.

In their second exhibition matchup back on Friday versus the Browns, Jacksonville notched another defeat 24-13. The Jags had an early lead and trailed by just one at halftime but couldn’t score the rest of the way. Trevor Lawrence hit six of his 12 passes for 95 yards and a score.

PICK: I’m probably going to stay with the Steelers. In their game versus the Seahawks, Pittsburgh had their offense working pretty well with 409 total yards, 24 first downs and zero turnovers. The Steelers mustered 6.1 yards per play and had just two penalties in a solid all-around effort.
As for Jacksonville, they showed some early promise versus the Browns but went completely silent in the second half. The Jags posted 21 first downs but went just 3-of-13 on third-down tries and had three turnovers. I think they’ll hang around for a while in this one as well but ultimately lose.
