The New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals clash Sunday night in week 2 NFL Preseason action from MetLife Stadium.

The Cincinnati Bengals will try to bounce back from a 36-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in their last game. Jake Browning threw for 190 yards on 13 of 24 passing while Drew Plitt had 76 yards and a TD on 6 of 6 passing. Jacques Patrick had a team-high 9 carries for 30 yards and a TD on the ground for the Bengals. Kendric Pryor had a team-high 4 catches for 89 yards and a TD while Trent Taylor had 4 catches of his own for 74 yards. On defense, Clay Johnston led the way with 6 total tackles including 5 solo tackles while the Bengals as a unit combined for 3 sacks.

The New York Giants will look to build on their 23-21 win over New England to kick off the preseason last time out. Tyrod Taylor threw for 129 yards on 13 of 21 passing with a TD while Daniel Jones had 69 yards of 6 of 10 passing. Antonio Williams rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on 9 carries while Gary Brightwell had 7 carries for 40 yards. Collin Johnson led New York’s receiving group with 7 grabs for 82 yards while Richie James had 3 catches for 44 yards and a score and Jashaun Corbin had 5 catches for 28 yards. On defense, Trenton Thompson had a sack and Austin Calitro had an interception for the Giants.

The Bengals are a team I’m going to be high on this season if they can stay healthy, but that’s why I’m leaning towards the Giants here. The Bengals lost Brandon Allen early in the preseason opener with a concussion, leaving the play-calling and executing duties to a third-string QB in Jake Browning for the most part and while that’s to be expected in the preseason, starting third-stringers, the reality is that the giants just looked a lot better and should be able to have some success here as well if we have to see extended periods of Browning. The Bengals also didn’t look tight defensively yet and I think the Giants can take advantage. Give me the Giants here.
