The Tennessee Titans and San Francisco 49ers meet Thursday in NFL preseason action at Levi’s Stadium. Here’s a 49ers vs Titans Prediction. This article will include a 49ers vs Titans Pick.
Tennessee Titans Betting Preview
The Titans won 3 games last season and haven’t made the playoffs since the 2021 season. Tennessee enters the Robert Saleh era with Brian Daboll as offensive coordinator and year two with quarterback Cam Ward.
It’s a work in progress for the Titans, but the growth of Ward would do wonders for the future of this franchise. He has help coming in wide receivers Wan’Dale Robinson and Carnell Tate joining the squad. Running back Tony Pollard is coming off a successful season, and there’s potential in tight ends Gunnar Helm and Daniel Bellinger. The question with the Titans’ offense is the line that wasn’t good last year and hasn’t looked good in camp.
The defense has some bright spots, mainly in Jeffery Simmons, but the additions of John Franklin-Myers and Jermaine Johnson bolster the front. Keldric Faulk is a first-round pick who should see plenty of reps right away. The secondary added Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott, which improves the secondary. Saleh is a defensive guy, and he wasted no time making that side of the ball a potential strength. The 49ers have a ways to go, but this should be a tougher, more physical team out of the gate.
San Francisco 49ers Betting Preview
The 49ers have become one of the most consistent teams in the NFL as they’ve made the playoffs in 5 of the last 7 years, and that includes 2 Super Bowl trips. Coach Kyle Shanahan is back for a 10th season, and Raheem Morris was a nice addition at defensive coordinator.
The 49ers should be efficient offensively with Brock Purdy at quarterback, Christian McCaffrey at running back, and the additions of Mike Evans and Christian Kirk at wide receiver. This could be a more explosive 49ers offense with the talent on the outside, but the health of tight end George Kittle remains a question mark.
Defensively, the health of Nick Bosa and Fred Warner will go a long way. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw returns after a season in Denver, and Romello Height is a talented third-round pick who could see the field early. Morris is an aggressive, no-nonsense coach, and he should have fun with the talent he has to work with on this side of the ball.
49ers vs Titans Prediction
Those who have followed me over the years know my handicapping in preseason is all about the quarterback position. The rest of the positions are toss-ups, and you have no idea who is going to play nd for how long. The one constant thing is decent quarterback play and the guys who can put points on the board.
There are a lot of quarterbacks in this game who are intriguing. Mitchell Trubisky is a veteran player with legit starting experience. The same can be said for Mac Jones. Will Levis led the Titans in 2024 and still believes he can be a starter down the road. Hendon Hooker has been around for a while despite limited reps, and Adrian Martinez is a playmaker who balled in college and in the UFL.
Basically, what I’m saying is some guys can move the ball and have success, especially later in the game against lesser defenders. I see points. Give me the over.
