Houston Texans vs New York Jets 11/28/21 NFL Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Houston Texans and New York Jets clash Sunday in week 12 NFL action from NRG Stadium in Houston. New York is coming off a one-touchdown loss to the rival Dolphins in their last appearance. As for the Texans, they stopped a lengthy losing streak with a victory over the Titans this past weekend. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.

New York dropped their first three games of the 2021 season before finally bagging an OT win over the Titans. Losses to the Falcons and Patriots, then a win over the Bengals came next. Since then it’s been losses to the Colts, Bills and Dolphins for New York.

Last weekend against the Dolphins, New York kept the pace for most of the game but ultimately fell 24-7. QB Joe Flacco put up 291 yards with two scores, and Michael Carter led the rush with 63 yards. Elijah Moore caught eight balls for 141 yards and a TD.

Over on the Texans’ side, they won their opener over the Jaguars this year, then hit a losing streak against the Browns, Panthers, Bills, Patriots, Colts, Cardinals, Rams and Dolphins. Last weekend Houston finally got another win over the Titans.

Houston had a 12-0 lead at halftime over Tennessee and scored in every quarter during a 22-13 victory. QB Tyrod Taylor put up 107 pass yards and two rush TDs, and Chris Conley led the receivers on 37 yards from four catches.

The Jets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games in Week 12 and 14-34-3 ATS in their last 51 road games. New York is 7-19 ATS versus a team with a losing record.

Meanwhile, the Texans are 4-1 ATS in their last five in November and 4-1 ATS in their last five at home. Houston is 4-10-1 ATS in their last 15 as a favorite.

PICK: I’m going to stick with the Texans here. This game really isn’t going to matter much in the standings, but will be very important in anticipating next year’s draft position. In any case, Houston was demolished in total yards 420-190 and first downs 26-15 against the Titans during their last outing but had one saving grace. That was the five turnovers which killed any momentum Tennessee found in the game. Otherwise it was a lopsided matchup Houston shouldn’t have won.

As for the Jets, they played reasonably well (for them) against the Dolphins but ran out of steam in the second half. This matchup should be pretty competitive overall, but I like Houston to manage a late cover.
