New Orleans Saints vs Atlanta Falcons 11/7/21 NFL Picks and Predictions

The New Orleans Saints and Atlanta Falcons square off in a week 9 NFL contest from the Caesars Superdome on Sunday afternoon.

The Atlanta Falcons will be looking to rebound from a 19-13 loss at the hands of the Carolina Panthers in their last game. Matt Ryan has thrown for 1,814 yards, 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions on 68.6% passing while Cordarrelle Patterson and Mike Davis have combined for 526 rushing yards and 3 TDs. Kyle Pitts leads the Falcons with 484 passing yards while Patterson has 333 receiving yards and a team-high 5 touchdowns this year. Calvin Ridley has 281 receiving yards while another four Falcons have 100+ receiving yards as well this season. On defense, Foyesade Oluokun leads the Falcons with 77 total tackles while Deion Jones has 72 total tackles and Jaylinn Hawkins has a pair of interceptions this season.

The New Orleans Saints will be looking to add to their 36-27 win over Tampa Bay last time out. Jameis Winston has thrown for 1,170 yards but is now out for the year with a torn ACL, making Trevor Siemian the leading passer with 159 yards and a touchdown. Alvin Kamara leads the Saints on the ground with 480 rushing yards and a pair of scores while Marquez Callaway, Deonte Harris and Kamara each have 250+ receiving yards and a combined 9 touchdowns this season. Juwan Johnson also has 3 receiving TDs for New Orleans as well this year. On defense, Demario Davis leads the Saints with 53 total tackles while Paulson Adebo and Marcus Williams each have a pair of interceptions. Tanoh Kpassagnon has a team-high 4 sacks as well this year.

Atlanta is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 division games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record while the under is 5-2 in their last 7 games as a road underdog. New Orleans is 11-4 ATS in their last 15 games against a team with a losing record and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 division games while the under is 11-3 in their last 14 games following a win.

The Jameis Winston adds another wrinkle to this game as Trevor Siemian looked decent in relief, and I’m not sure if Taysom Hill will be back for this one. With that said, I’m siding with the under here as I do expect regression from New Orleans’ offense and the Falcons to have trouble with this Saints’ front seven.
