The New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys meet Sunday afternoon in an NFL NFC East rivalry from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. Dallas sits at 9-4 so far this year. The Cowboys beat Washington in their last game. As for the Giants, they’re 4-9 on the season and coming off a loss to the Chargers. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.
Dallas lost their opener this year, then hit a six-game win streak before a loss to Denver on November 7. Since then the Cowboys have gone 3-2 with losses to the Chiefs and Raiders mixed with wins over the Falcons, Saints and Washington.
In the matchup versus the Team last weekend, Dallas jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead and cruised to an eventual 27-20 win (despite just three second-half points). QB Dak Prescott threw for 211 yards, one score and two picks. CeeDee Lamb had 61 yards on seven catches.
Over on the Giants’ side, they limped out of the gate at 2-5 with wins over the Saints and Panthers. New York has gone 2-4 since then, losing to the Chiefs, Buccaneers, Dolphins and Chargers in that time.
Matched up against the Chargers last weekend, the Giants gave up points in every quarter on the way to a 37-21 loss. QB Mike Glennon posted 191 yards with two scores, and Saquon Barkley rushed for 64 yards on 16 carries.
The Cowboys are 5-0 ATS in their last five in December and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 versus the NFC. Dallas is 4-1 ATS in their last five versus the NFC East.
Meanwhile, the Giants are 6-1 ATS in the last seven versus the NFC East and 5-2 ATS in their last seven in Week 15. New York is 1-4 ATS versus a team with a winning record.
PICK: I’m probably going to stay with Dallas. The Cowboys were pretty impressive initially against Washington in their last game, but had a pretty tepid three-point second half. Dallas has been scoring well lately though, with 27 or more in each of their last three outings.
As for the Giants, they had a few flashes against the Chargers but were pretty much buried by halftime. I don’t think New York has the offense to keep up here, so if the Cowboys get going early they should be fine on a cover.
