The Cleveland Browns and the New York Jets meet Sunday in NFL action from MetLife Stadium. Here’s a Jets vs Browns prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Jets vs Browns pick.
Cleveland Browns Betting Preview
Cleveland kicked off the year with a couple of losses, falling to the Bengals and Ravens in that pair. The Browns would then take a three-point win over the Green Bay Packers, then hit a losing skid versus the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers. Cleveland would then beat the Dolphins in a blowout home effort on October 19. The Browns defense was the star of the show in that one with just 219 yards, 3.8 yards per play, 12 first downs and 1-of-13 on third-downs allowed alongside three takeaways. The offense wasn’t great with 206 yards, 15 first downs and 4-of-11 on third-downs themselves, though.
In their latest outing back on October 26 versus the New England Patriots, the Browns were up by four points at the end of the first quarter. Cleveland ended up surrendering points in every quarter though, eventually falling 32-13 in the end. QB Dillon Gabriel finished with a 21-of-35 line for 156 yards, two scores and two picks. Tops in rushing was Malachi Corley with one 31-yard rumble. Harold Fannin added six catches for 62 yards and a touchdown, while David Njoku had four catches for 37 yards in the losing effort.
New York Jets Betting Preview
Over on the Jets’ side, they opened the season on a pretty rough losing skid. New York lost versus the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos and Carolina Panthers in that time, but a few of those matchups were close finishes. In the loss to Carolina, the Jets could only muster 220 yards, 3.7 yards per play, 12 first downs and a couple of interceptions on offense. Defensively New York gave up 302 yards with 17 first downs and a solid 5-of-17 allowed on third-down conversions.
New York was finally able to get a much-needed win in their latest outing versus the Cincinnati Bengals. The Jets were down 24-13 by the break but eventually took a thrilling 39-38 comeback road win thanks to 23 points in the final quarter. QB Justin Fields was 21-of-32 for 244 yards and a score while Breece Hall carried 18 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns of his own. Tyler Johnson led the receivers with three catches for 64 yards and a touchdown of his own in the winning effort.

Jets vs Browns Prediction
I’m going to stay with the Browns. That said, there’s not a lot to get excited about in this matchup. Cleveland couldn’t find much room against the Patriots in their last outing, notching just 213 yards with 12 first downs and 2-of-11 on third-down tries in the loss—not to mention two interceptions. The defense bagged a couple of takeaways and held the Pats to just 3-of-11 on third downs but it wasn’t enough to keep it anywhere close. Cleveland has had some major issues scoring this year; they’ve been below 18 points in seven of their eight games so far.
As for the Jets, they ended up looking pretty good in their win over the Bengals but it was very much thanks to a wild final quarter. New York finished with a whopping 502 yards, 254 rush yards, 7.2 yards per play and 25 first downs. It was the Jets’ first time cracking 30 points since their first game versus the Steelers. It’s tough telling what’ll happen in this game but I can’t trust New York for anything these days. I’m staying away from this one but it’s an interesting matchup all the same.
