The Kansas City Chiefs travel to Lincoln Financial Field to take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a NFL contest. The Chiefs are coming off a close loss versus the Chargers last weekend, dropping the team to 1-2 on the year. As for the Eagles, they just finished up against the Cowboys on Monday evening. In that one, Philadelphia lost by 20 points. Check back all season long for free NFL picks at Sports Chat Place.
Kansas City came out of the gate pretty strong this year, posting a 33-29 win over a decent Browns team. Week two against the Ravens was a different story for the Chiefs, however. KC gave up 12 points in the fourth quarter to ultimately fall 36-35 in that one.
The Chiefs fell behind 14-3 to the Chargers in week three, and even took a lead heading into the fourth quarter. KC gave up 16 points in that final frame in a 30-24 defeat, however. QB Patrick Mahomes finished with 260 yards, three TDs and two picks on 27-of-44 passing.
Over on the Eagles’ side, they didn’t have a ton of trouble versus the Falcons in their opener this year, scoring in every quarter during an eventual 32-6 blowout win. In week two versus the 49ers, Philadelphia stalled for most of the game during a 17-11 loss.
On Monday night in week three versus the Cowboys, Philadelphia gave up 20 points in the first half on the way to a 41-21 blowout loss. QB Jalen Hurts put up 326 yards with two TDs and two picks. Dallas Goedert led the receivers with 66 yards on two catches.
The Chiefs are 1-5 ATS in their last six on the road and 1-11 ATS in their last 12 on grass. KC is also 0-4 ATS in their last four as a favorite.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last five at home and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games in Week four. Philly is also 3-9 ATS in their last 12 when playing on Sunday after a Monday night game.
PICK: I’m going to try the Chiefs. Kansas City held the edge on the Chargers in most significant statistical categories last weekend, but also made some key mistakes. The Chiefs notched 437 total yards, 33 first downs and just one punt, but also coughed up four costly turnovers.
As for the Eagles, they were outmatched by Dallas in most categories on Monday. Philly had 13 penalties, just 12 first downs and 53 total plays to the Cowboys’ 71. The Eagles have a lot of work to do before Sunday comes, so I think KC controls it here.
