Eagles vs Commanders Prediction 1/4/26 NFL Picks Today

The Washington Commanders and the Philadelphia Eagles meet Sunday in NFL action from Lincoln Financial Field. Here’s an Eagles vs Commanders prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Eagles vs Commanders pick.

Washington Commanders Betting Preview

The Commanders opened the year on a 3-2 stretch with wins over the Giants, Raiders and Chargers. A losing streak came after that though, as Washington fell to the Bears, Cowboys, Chiefs, Seahawks, Lions, Dolphins, Broncos and Vikings before a win over the Giants. Since then it’s been losses to the Eagles and Cowboys, giving Washington a 4-12 overall record.

In their Christmas Day game versus Dallas, the Commanders managed to put up points in every quarter—but also gave up points in every quarter—during a 30-23 loss. QB Josh Johnson had 198 yards with 15-of-23 passing and lead rusher Jacory Croskey-Merritt had 105 yards and two scores off 11 carries. Deebo Samuel added two catches for 68 yards as well.

Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

Over on the Philly side, they went into their bye week at a strong 6-2 with wins over the Cowboys, Chiefs, Rams, Buccaneers, Vikings and Giants in that time. The Eagles went 4-3 over the next seven games though, losing to Dallas, Chicago and the Rams amid wins over the Packers, Lions, Raiders and Commanders. That would give Philadelphia a 10-5 record in their first 15 outings.

Matched up against Buffalo on Sunday the Eagles were up 13-0 going into the final quarter. Philly gave up 12 unanswered points from there but held on for the tight road win 13-12. QB Jalen Hurts was 13-of-27 for 110 yards and a TD while Saquon Barkley had 19 carries for 68 yards rushing. Leading receiver AJ Brown had five catches for 68 yards in the win as well.

Eagles vs Commanders Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Eagles I suppose. Philly didn’t tally much in the way of offense against Buffalo in their last outing, notching 190 yards, 11 first downs and 3-of-13 on third-down attempts. Still, it was enough to win a low-scoring, defense-heavy road matchup and gives Philadelphia their third straight win.

The last time these teams met up was recently, in a 29-18 road win for the Eagles on December 20. Philadelphia managed 385 yards in that one with 207 rush yards, 5.8 yards per play and 26 first downs. On the other side Washington posted just 220 yards with 15 first downs and 2-of-10 on third-down tries. The Eagles should be comfortable at home in the rematch and I like them to control things well.
