Rams vs Cowboys Prediction 8/9/25 NFL Picks Today

The Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Rams meet Saturday in NFL preseason action at SoFi Stadium. Here’s a Rams vs Cowboys Prediction. This article will include a Rams vs Cowboys Pick.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview

The Dallas Cowboys won seven games last year, missing the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season. The Brian Schottenheimer era now begins.

The Cowboys offense will live and die off the health of Dak Prescott. While he’s still capable of being a respectable quarterback, he’s played an average of 12 games since the 2020 season. The addition of George Pickens takes pressure off of CeeDee Lamb, and you’d expect a bounce back season from tight end Jake Ferguson. The Cowboys lacked any rushing attack last season, and we’ll see what the additions of Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders produce. There’s playmakers on this Cowboys offense, but Prescott needs to be on the field for things to happen.

Defensively, there’s a massive distraction with Micah Parsons demanding a trade. We’ll see how that plays out. The additions of Payton Turner and Dante Fowler do bolster the defensive front, but Parsons is the playmaker who makes things work. The health of DeMarvion Overshown and Trevon Diggs are concerns as well. The Cowboys have talent, but there’s a lot of question marks with this roster, and that’s before we get to a new coaching staff.

Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Rams have won double-digit games in four of the last five years and remain a threat with Sean McVay as head coach. McVay has a 60.6 percent winning percentage through eight years.

Offensively, the Rams are in good shape, as McVay is a mad scientist and Matthew Stafford is still rolling in his late 30s. Kyren Williams is coming off his best season, and a receiving duo of Puka Nacua and Davante Adams can be special. The return of tight end Tyler Higbee is a boost, while the offensive line can be better if Alaric Jackson, Rob Havenstein, and Steve Avila if they can stay healthy.

Defensively, the Rams have questions at linebacker and in the secondary. However, a defensive front led by Jared Verse, Braden Fiske, and Poona Ford can disrupt things each week. Darious Williams and Cobie Durant returning at cornerback adds stability in the secondary, but this is a group that got gashed through the air. The Rams are a feisty, sneaky group that can make noise in the NFC, but the defense has to make strides.

Rams vs Cowboys Prediction

My focus on preseason games comes down to quarterback depth, so you can argue the Cowboys have the edge with Joe Milton III and Will Grier. Outside of Jimmy Garoppolo, it gets dark for the Rams. However, I’m a massive fan of coach McVay, and he puts guys in a position to succeed with his creativity. I enjoy getting the Rams in the underdog role. At home, I’ll take a shot with the Rams and the points.
