Miami’s first preseason matchup was against the Atlanta Falcons. The Dolphins fell behind early 10-3 but rallied for an eventual 20-13 win. QB Skylar Thompson finished with 95 yards, one TD and one pick. Tanner Conner led the receivers on three catches for 70 yards.

Preseason game two against the Washington Commanders went fairly well for Miami also. The Dolphins scored in each of the first three quarters in a 13-6 win. Tua Tagovailoa was great on 5-for-5 passing, 51 yards and a TD during limited action, and Chris Brooks rushed five times for 63 yards.

Over on the Buccaneers’ side, they took on the Cincinnati Bengals in their first exhibition game. Tampa Bay eked out a 17-14 win in that one with 10 second-half points. Kyle Trask went 12-of-20 for 144 yards and an interception. John Wolford threw for 131 yards on 12-of-18 passing.

The Bucs didn’t look quite so coherent in game two versus the Jaguars. Tampa Bay gave up points in the final three quarters on the way to a 20-7 loss. Trask managed 108 yards and a TD on 12-of-19 passing this time, while Cody Thompson led the receivers with five catches for 66 yards and a score.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Miami Dolphins Prediction

I’ll probably just stay with Miami. The Dolphins didn’t have the prettiest game versus the Commanders in their last outing, but everything worked out on the scoreboard. Miami put up 288 yards (202 passing) and just 12 first downs in the win, giving up two fumbles on the way. The good news is that the Dolphins came up with a couple of turnovers on defense and held Washington to just 5-of-18 on third-down tries.

As for Tampa Bay, they were able to muster just 207 total yards (131 passing) and a 2-of-11 rate on third downs in their loss to the Jaguars. If the Bucs can’t get their offense moving any better here it should be smooth sailing for the Dolphins.
