The Toronto Maple Leafs look to avenge their first loss of the season when they head to Nashville who are coming off a nice home ice victory over the Minnesota Wild.
The Leafs got off to a hot start this season but were dealt their first speed bump of the year as they dropped a 2-1 home ice decision to the Colorado Avalanche and they’ll be gunning to bounce back in this one. Toronto did a great job dictating the pace of the game in the early going and scored the game’s first goal in the second period but the Avs showed their resiliency and bounced back with two unanswered to secure their third win in as many games. Now, the Leafs head to the road where they have won both contests this season and will look to catch a Preds team who is riding high after upending a pesky Wild team in their last outing. Jonathan Bernier, who has been outstanding for the Leafs this season is likely to get another start and will be going up against Pekka RInne.

The Predators are off to a shaky start to the season despite registering their first win of the year against the Wild in their last outing as they have uncharacteristically been sloppy in the defensive zone and have struggled to keep pucks off of Pekka Rinne. Nashville will experience some more growing pains this season after losing a number of key players over the last two seasons and while they should improve on their disappointing mark last year I think the Preds are still a season away from getting back to the playoffs. Pekka Rinne has been shelled so far this season with his best effort coming against Minnesota where he conceded two goals but the Preds are accustomed to seeing their netminder steal games for them with his sensational net minding. This game shapes up to be a good one but to be honest I think the Leafs are the way better team here and the line is a bit askew as the Leafs are coming off a loss while the Preds are riding an emotional victory but I think that was more a product of circumstance than of Nashville being a good team. Love the road team here.
