On Friday night the New York Islanders travel to Chicago to take on the Blackhawks in what should be an entertaining game. New York has a lot of offensive firepower up front and they're coming into their own with John Tavares leading the way. Tavares is one of the best players in the game right now and he creates space on the ice for players like Frans Nielsen, Kyle Okposo, and Josh Bailey. New York is coming off a dominant 6-1 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night. Tavares scored twice, and four other Islanders scored goals as the Islanders came out flying and never let their foot off the gas. This will be a big test for this hockey club as they'll look to measure themselves against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
Chicago will be looking to bounce back after a tough 3-2 loss against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday. This was a back and forth game between two of the elite teams in the Western Conference and Corey Crawford just couldn't make a save with 20 seconds left in regulation to at least get the game to overtime. Alexander Steen wristed one past the Chicago netminder, a puck that really has to be stopped but wasn't. It left the Blackhawks without a point in a game they played well enough to get to the extra session. The good news is Patrick Kane had another great game and this team is still loaded up and down the lineup. Back at home at the United Center this team will be tough to beat.
