The Flyers look for back to back wins when they host the Coyotes in Philadelphia on Friday night while the Coyotes look for their second straight as well coming off a victory over the Red Wings.
The Coyotes will look to ride their momentum building win in the Motor City on Wednesday night to another victory in Philadelphia on Friday as they turn to backup Thomas Greiss between the pipes. Phoenix is a defensive minded team that builds from the crease out and will win a lot of low scoring, hard fought affair much like their win against the Red Wings at Joe Louis Arena. Mike Smith had his best outing of the season in Detroit and while he will be serving as a backup in this one Greiss is a more than capable replacement as he served as a back up in San Jose for a couple seasons and was always strong in relief of Antii Niemi.

The Flyers finally got in the win column but sit with a 1-3 mark and are still left with a number of question marks and distractions after Peter Laviolette was fired just three games into the season. Philly is a tough team to figure out as they have a lot of talent up front and should be able to score at will and while their defense has some holes it is still a solid unit that should be able to contain their opponent’s offensive threats. Luckily for the Flyers here the Coyotes don’t have a ton of offensive weapons and even though they play a solid game against the Wings I think the Flyers get the best of Phoenix in this spot as Greiss gets his first action of the year and I think will need some time to get his bearings. I like the Flyers at home here.
