The Carolina Hurricanes and the Minnesota Wild meet in NHL action from Xcel Energy Center on Saturday night.

The Carolina Hurricanes will look for some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games after a 3-2 OT loss to Colorado last time out. Martin Necas has a team-high 21 points with 8 goals and a team-high 13 assists while Sebastian Aho also has 10 assists along with 8 goals as part of his 18 points. Andrei Svechnikov also has 18 points with a team-high 12 goals this season. Frederik Andersen has gone 5-3 with a 2.72 GAA and an .891 save percentage while Antti Raanta is 3-2-1 with a 2.53 GAA and a .902 save percentage in goal for Carolina so far this season.

The Minnesota Wild will hope to snap a three-game losing skid after their 6-4 loss to Pittsburgh last time out. Kirill Kaprizov has a team-high 19 points with a team-high 10 goals and 9 assists while Mats Zuccarello has 17 points with 6 goals and a team-high 11 assists. Matt Boldy has 11 points with 6 goals and 5 assists and Joel Eriksson Ek has 12 points with 6 goals and 6 assists. Calen Addison also has 8 assists this season. Marc-Andre Fleury is 6-4-1 with a 2.80 GAA and a .906 save percentage while Filip Gustavsson is 1-4-1 with a 3.21 GAA and a .901 save percentage this season.

Carolina is 35-16 in their last 51 games against a team with a losing record and 29-13 in their last 42 games against the Central division while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall. Minnesota is 2-5 in their last 7 games overall and 54-24 in their last 78 home games while the under is 7-1 in their last 8 games overall.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m looking at the under here. Both teams have found themselves in some lower-scoring games as of late and I think this is another game that falls in line with recent form. The defense and goaltending on both sides is above average and while the offenses have breakout potential, this just feels like a first to 3 wins kind of game. Give me the under here.
