The Ottawa Senators look to exact some revenge as they host the Anaheim Ducks at the Scotiabank Place as former Ducks forward Booby Ryan gets a shot at his former team.
The Ducks started out of the gates as one of the league’s hottest teams but since leaving the Pond they have hit a speed bump and have dropped their past two contests, including last night in Montreal against the Canadiens. Anaheim is a veteran laden team but they do have some young talent as well namely Jakub Silfverberg who came to Anaheim in the deal that sent Ryan to the Senators and so far he has made it well worth it for the Ducks as he has been brilliant. The Ducks got the best of the Sens in Anaheim but with the Ducks playing in a back to back here coming off a tough outing on the road last night and a similar effort against the Maple Leafs a few days ago it could be a long night for them tonight as well.

The Senators have stumbled a bit out of the gates as they were xpected to be one of the teams to beat in the Eastern Conference this season and while it is still very early in the season Ottawa has yet to string together convincing victories yet. That being said the Sens are coming off their best game of the season as they went into Detroit and absolutely pasted the Wings to the tune of a 6-1 final that gave Sens fans a sense of redemption as they sent Daniel Alfredsson’s new club to their worst beating of the year. I fear for the Sens heading home for the fact that a game like they just played with so much emotion and circumstance involved that they will come out flat here but I do think the revenge factor is still fresh for the Sens as they get the Ducks coming into Scotiabank Place. Anaheim is a very good team that shouldn’t lose three in a row but these Eastern Canada trips are taxing and after playing last night I think this is just a very bad spot for the Ducks and I think they get thrashed again.
