The New York Islanders are coming off a difficult 5-4 loss on home ice to the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night but once again they proved that they can play with one of the better teams in the league. Matt Moulson notched a couple of goals and Frans Nielsen added three points in the defeat. We saw this last year when they surprised everyone by giving the Pittsburgh Penguins a scare in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs. Now they'll travel to the Consol Energy Center as they take their first crack at Sidney Crosby and company. Pittsburgh is off to a great start at 7-2-0 on the year and even though the Islanders have given them some problems at times they usually seem to handle them pretty well on home ice. Last year in the playoffs they made Evgeni Nabokov look awful in Pittsburgh. This is the type of game that I would stay away from because the Islanders can be pesky and they have the ability to score goals. It's not worth playing Pittsburgh unless you're taking the puck line but with the way the Islanders play defense at times that might not be a problem.
