Chicago is looking to bounce back from a game that saw them allow six goals to the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 6-5 defeat. It wasn't typical Blackhawks hockey but because of all the talent they have they still almost found a way to pull out a win despite giving up half a dozen goals. Nikolai Khabibulin allowed all six goals on just 25 shots and didn't do too much to instill confidence as the team's backup netminder. Trailing 1-0 after one period of play the Blackhawks got goals from Bryan Bickell, Marian Hossa, and Patrick Kane in the second period but still found themselves locked in a 3-3 tie. Andrew Shaw's early third period goal gave Chicago the lead yet again before they watched the Lightning rally for a couple to jump back in front 5-4. Jonathan Toews sent the game to overtime with a goal with under two minutes to play but the Lightning got the difference maker from Martin St. Louis just over a minute in. Chicago shouldn't have any problem defeating the Minnesota Wild if they put up another five spot and they should get better goaltending from Corey Crawford. Minnesota isn't scoring much but they're playing solid defense and getting good goaltending. After a 2-0 shutout of the Nashville Predators they held the Carolina Hurricanes to just a single goal in a 3-1 win. They'll need that type of performance again if they're going to have a chance against the Blackhawks.
