The reports thing that could have happened to the Carolina Hurricanes this season was another Cam Ward injury. Unfortunately that's exactly what happened to them. Not only that, but the backup they signed in the offseason, Anton Khudobin, also is out with an injury. That leaves them right back where they were last season with Justin Peters trying to ensure their season doesnt get out of hand. It's been said over and over but this hockey club has enough offensive firepower to make noise they just need some stability in net and on the back end. Now on Monday night one of the best offensive clubs in hockey comes knocking as Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins come to town. This has all the makings of a high scoring affair and with Kris Letang back in the fold the Penguins have even more of it. They've been a regular season juggernaut and there's no reason to expect any difference this season. Marc-Andre Fleury has played extremely well and the Penguins haven't even really gotten EvgeIn Malkin going. This should be a game where the Penguins try and pepper shots on goal because if they do that and control the pace they're going to be difficult to beat.
