The Anaheim Ducks look to start a new winning streak as they head into Madison Square Garden to take on the Rangers who have won three straight.
The Ducks have been one of the best and most consistent teams to start the season as they have raced out to an 11-3-1 record including a perfect 5-0 mark at home and they’ll be looking for their second straight victory when they take on the Rangers. Anaheim has played a very solid team game through the first month of the season but once again their accolades are being overshadowed by other Western powers with Chicago stealing the spotlight last year and both Colorado and San Jose doing the honours this season. The Ducks are a legitimate threat to win the Cup coming out of the West this season and they’ll aim for their seventh road win of the year in the Big Apple but they’ll have to play their best as the Blue Shirts are starting to gain momentum and have won three straight themselves. Jonas Hiller gets the call for the Ducks while the Rangers will counter with Henrik Lundqvist.

The Rangers were among the league’s biggest disappointments through the first two weeks of the season as they stumbled out of the gates, but they have since turned things around and can get back to the .500 mark with their fourth straight win here tonight. New York is a team built on flash as they have a lot of talented players but they injury bug has decimated their star power so they’ve had to create a new identity and so far it seems to be working as they’re grinding their way to big victories including Saturday’s 5-1 shellacking over the Carolina Hurricanes. However, the Rangers face a very stiff test here as the Ducks are a very solid team and match up well against anyone in the league so New York will have to be on point, especially in the defensive zone and the crease. I am willing to ride the Rangers at the moment as I think they will continue their success at home and escape this one with two big points that will bring them back to respectability.
