The Line: Montreal Canadiens -121 / St. Louis Blues +110 --- Over/Under: 5.5 See the Latest Odds

The St. Louis Blue head into the Bell Centre on Tuesday coming off just their second regulation loss of the season and they’ll look to get back in the win column against a Canadiens team who has dropped back to back games.

The Blues head into Montreal looking for their fourth road win of the year and former Canadiens net minder Jaroslav Halak return to Montreal to play his former team who deemed him expendable just weeks after he led them to the Eastern Conference finals a few seasons ago. Since the deal to St. Louis Halak and the Blues have been very tough to beat and have been one of the best teams in the league while the Canadiens have been up and down and Carey Price has been in the limelight with his on again off again relationship with the Montreal media. St. Louis will hope another offseason and another year to gel with the core of the team will be enough to make a deep playoff run and with the way they’re playing right now no one can deny that the Blues have a legitimate chance to do so. Halak and Price should both be in the crease tonight in this pivotal matchup.

Montreal Canadiens vs. St. Louis Blues - 11/5/13

Jean-Yves Ahern-USA TODAY Sports

Montreal has been up and down to start the season as they’re 8-7 through their first 15 games and while they have battled the injury bug that validates some of their downfall I just don’t think they’re as good as a lot of people give them credit for. Certainly Carey Price is the team’s MVP as he is one of the best young goaltenders in the game and has his eye on a starting job with Team Canada in February but the play in front of him this year has been subpar at best. Price is among the league leaders with a miniscule goals against average of 2.19 yet he sits with a 6-6 record which should be pretty indicative of how the Montreal offense has played at times this season. This game is going to be a grudge match between two great goalies and two strong defensive teams and while I have a very strong play in the Premium Area I think an equally as strong play is on the total which should come in under the total.
