Things just continue to get worse for the Devils who are playing some awful hockey right now, dealing with injuries, and trying to figure out how to deal with an aging legend in goal on top of it. When thinking about how poor the Philadelphia Flyers have played this year it's hard to think about the Devils actually being worse. They lost to the Flyers last week on home ice, 1-0, one night after the Flyers were destroyed by the Washington Capitals 7-0. They followed that up by traveling to Minnesota on Sunday night and getting shutout 4-0 by Zach Parise and the Wild. They'll get their shot at redemption on Thursday when they travel to the Wells Fargo Center but this club just can't score right now. They have no different makers in the lineup and the same can be said for Philadelphia who blew a 1-0 lead with under a minute to play in regulation to the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday night. These two teams have struggled to score all year and it's hard to imagine them figuring it out against each other. Just like the Flyers last game against the Hurricanes expect this one to be low scoring. Until these teams prove they can put the puck in the net consistently there's no reason to believe they will.
