The Chicago Blackhawks square off with the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center.
Chicago continued their early season success with an almost leisurely 4-1 victory over visiting Winnipeg on Wednesday to up their record to 10-2-4. The surging Blackhawks have now won four of five as it seemed as if just about everybody was involved. Four different players found the back of the net against Al Montoya who stopped 24 shots in the loss. Brandon Pirri, Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews each scored while Duncan Keith added a pair of helpers for the defending Stanley Cup champions. Corey Crawford was rock solid between the pipes with 24 stops with Devin Setoguchi spoiling the shutout with a third period tally.

Dallas has made a habit of winning the close ones thus far in the early going after a 4-3 overtime victory at Detroit was their third straight OT of shootout win. After a scoreless first period the teams exploded for six goals over the final 40 minutes but none was bigger then Cody Eakin's power play tally with just over a miute left in regulation that erased a 3-2 deficit and sent the game to the extra session where Rich Peverley beat Jimmy Howard at the 4:41 mark of overtime to cap a perfect three game road swing. Jamie Benn and Shawn Horcoff also tallied for the visitors who received 26 saves from Kari Lehtonen who saw three players score for the Red Wings and Henrik Zetterberg post three assists.
Both teams have been winning although Dallas has been playing things close to the vest. The Blackhawks have been playing better so I believe it's Chicago or nothing at a decent price...
