The Nashville Predators and the New Jersey Devils meet in NHL action from the Prudential Center on Thursday night.

The Nashville Predators will look to find some consistency after alternating wins and losses in each of their last five games after a 2-1 OT win over Anaheim last time out. Filip Forsberg has a team-high 19 points with 7 goals and 12 assists while Mikael Granlund has 16 points with a team-high 14 assists and Matt Duchene has 17 points with 12 assists on the year. Roman Josi has 17 points with 12 assists and Nino Niederreiter’s also chipped in a team-high 9 goals while Ryan Johansen has 5 goals as well on the year. Juuse Saros has gone 8-6-2 with a 2.92 GAA and a .910 save percentage between the pipes for Nashville while Kevin Lankinen is 2-3 with a 2.50 GAA and a .922 save percentage.

The New Jersey Devils will look to keep their run going after a 5-3 win over the Rangers last time out. Jack Hughes leads the Devils in scoring with 26 points including a team-high 12 goals and 14 assists while Jesper Bratt also has 26 points with a team-high 18 assists. Nico Hischier also has 25 points with 10 goals and 15 assists this season. Mackenzie Blackwood has gone 4-2 with a 2.79 GAA and an .880 save percentage while Vitek Vanecek is 11-2 with a 2.12 GAA and a .923 save percentage of his own this season.

Nashville is 2-8 in their last 10 games against the Eastern Conference and 4-0 in their last 4 games after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game while the under is 8-2 in their last 10 games following a win. New Jersey is 4-0 in their last 4 Thursday games and 4-0 in their last 4 games played on 2 days rest while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 home games.

I get the reasoning for backing the Predators at the nice plus money, but right now, there’s simply no stepping in front of the Devils. This New Jersey team just keeps on finding ways to win and while it’s not going to last forever, I think you have to keep riding the hot hand until it stops paying. Give me New Jersey here.
