It was the type of win that can really energize a hockey club and the Los Angeles Kings couldn't be happier doing it without their star goaltender. With Jonathan Quick back in Los Angeles receiving treatment after the injury he suffered on Tuesday night the Kings rallied for a huge come from behind victory against the New York Islanders at Nassau Coliseum on Thursday night. A second period that saw the Kings overmatched had them in a 2-0 hole heading into the final 20 minutes. The Kings had to kill off an early penalty before Slava Voynov's goal got them on the board at 5:34 of the final period. With under eight minutes to play it was Tanner Pearson scoring his first goal of the year on the power play to even things up, and with under two minutes to play it was Tyler Toffoli scoring the game winner. Los Angeles looked like they wouldn't be able to solve Kevin Poulin on this night but their persistence paid off and it got them a huge win after they fell in a shootout the other night in a game they should have won against the Buffalo Sabres. They'll travel to New Jersey to take on the Devils on Friday night and New Jersey is feeling much better about themselves as they're finally starting to play Devils hockey. The Devils built on a 5-0 victory over the Nashivlle Predators the other night by traveling to Madison Square Garden and taking down the New York Rangers by a score of 3-2. New Jersey blew two different one goal leads, including a 2-1 lead in the third period, but Dainius Zubrus scored late in regulation to secure the victory. Martin Brodeur was the story of the game and right now he's got the hot hand so it wouldn't be a shock to see Peter Deboer continue to ride him. New Jersey will face a big test when the Los Angeles Kings come to town on Friday but the Devils should have the advantage in goal and New Jersey is riding high with a lot of confidence right now.
