The Line: New York Rangers +110 / Boston Bruins -121 --- Over/Under: 5 See the Latest Odds

The New York Rangers really struggle against bigger, more physical teams, especially ones from the Western Conference. One night after stifiling the Montreal Canadiens on the road en route to a 1-0 victory, the Rangers essentially had the same thing done to them by the Los Angeles Kings. New York barely had any open ice to work with all night long, constantly finding passing and shooting lanes clogged, always dealing with a stick check anytime they had the puck. The Rangers just weren't able to generate much sustained pressure and it's something they really struggle with against these teams that check tightly all game long. Henrik Lundqvist allowed just one goal on 30 shots, a deflection off one of his defenseman early in the second period, but the Rangers couldn't overcome the deficit. New York scored what looked to be the game tying goal late in the third period but after review it was waived off after being ruled that Dominic Moore kicked the puck into the Los Angeles net. New York's inability to convert on the power play really killed them in this one. The Rangers were 0-for-5 with the man advantage and that include two different times having a 5-on-3. No team is going to win many hockey games like that but especially not the Rangers, and especially not when you're facing a team like the Los Angeles Kings. Now the Bruins come into Madison Sqare Garden and they are another team that can give the Rangers some problems. Boston has struggled with New York during the regular season in recent years but they showed last season during the playoffs why they're a better team than New York. Tuukka Rask can match Lundqvist in goal and the Bruins are just a physical nightmare that makes it very difficult for New York. Rick Nash is targeting a return to action this week following his concussion but there's currently no word on whether or not Nash will be back in the lineup for this one on Tuesday. This should be a fun one and when these two teams meet it's usually close and low scoring.
