The Florida Panthers and the Vancouver Canucks meet in NHL action from the Rogers Arena on Friday night.

The Florida Panthers will look to build on their 6-0 win over Edmonton last time out. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the Panthers in scoring with 54 points including a team-high 39 assists while Aaron Ekblad has 35 points with 10 goals and 25 assists as well as a team-high +28 plus/minus rating this season. Carter Verhaeghe has 33 points and Sam Reinhart has 34 points as well with Verhaeghe chipping in 14 goals and 19 apples while Reinhart’s logging 11 goals and 23 assists. Anthony Duclair has a team-high 17 goals and Aleksander Barkov has 17 goals of his own this season. Sergei Bobrovsky’s gone 20-3-3 with a 2.38 GAA and a .925 save percentage between the pipes for Florida while Spencer Knight is 7-5-2 with a 3.51 GAA and an .891 save percentage this season.

The Vancouver Canucks will look to build on a 3-1 win over Nashville in their last game. J.T. Miller leads the Canucks in scoring with 39 points including 12 goals and 27 assists while Quinn Hughes has 31 points with a team-high 29 assists. Conor Garland also has 10 goals this season with a total of 24 points and the aforementioned Hughes leads the Canucks with a team-best +11 plus/minus. Bo Horvat’s also added 23 points with a team-high 13 goals of his own for Vancouver this year. Thatcher Demko’s seen the majority of action between the pipes for the Canucks, going 17-14-1 with a 2.62 GAA and a .917 save percentage this season

Florida is 45-14 in their last 59 games as a favorite and 3-10 in their last 13 road games while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games following a win. Vancouver is 10-4 in their last 14 games overall and 7-2 in their last 9 games following a win while the under is 21-7-4 in their last 32 home games.

I get the reasoning for Florida being favored here, but realistically, the price is too good to pass on with a Vancouver team that’s pretty much turned their season around since all of the changes in their front office before the Christmas break. Compound that with the fact that Florida is by far a better team at home than they are on the road, and I think you have to side with the value and the Canucks here.
