After coming up with a big win on the road on Sunday against the Ottawa Seantors it looked like things might be looking up for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Instead they traveled to Edmonton on Tuesday night and were embarrassed by one of the worst teams in the National Hockey League. Columbus was run out of the building in the first period, getting outshot 15-3 and outscored 3-0. The Blue Jackets would go on to allow three more goals in the second and one in the third as they fell by a final of 7-0. The Blue Jackets had 14 total shots on goal in a game against an absolutely terrible defensive team. There isn't any excuse for the type of play that the Blue Jackets are giving us right now and we saw last season that this hockey club has more in the tank then they are showing this year. Columbus will have to turn things around quickly before it gets too late. Calgary has been playing some pretty terrible hockey themselves, losing six straight games before they finally snapped the streak on Monday with a 5-4 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Calgary can't keep the puck out of their net which we knew was going to be a problem all season for this club that lost Miikka Kiprusoff and didn't do anything to replace him. This might be a game they can carry some momentum over from however and with a team that's playing as poorly as Columbus coming in it's not a terrible spot for the Flames.
